King of Prussia-based David’s Bridal is continuing to integrate its ecommerce and store operations as it pivots toward a tech-driven, asset-light retail model, writes Adam Blair for Retail TouchPoints.
The company is introducing an endless aisle experience in select stores, delivered through digital touchscreens powered by Shopify. Customers can browse the company’s full inventory, buy items at the store’s point-of-sale, and have them delivered to their home.
The retailer also plans to implement Shopify’s next-generation POS system into its recently launched “Diamonds & Pearls by David’s” concept. Deloitte Digital will lead the implementation and provide consulting and strategic guidance for the initiative.
“At David’s, we’re not just evolving – we’re reimagining the entire bridal journey from inspiration to purchase, all through an AI, digital, asset-light lens,” said Kelly Cook, CEO of David’s Bridal. “By integrating with Shopify, we’re delivering unmatched, real-time access to our full selection of bridal and special occasion offerings through true commerce fluidity, resulting in a more seamless customer shopping experience.”
Other benefits of the Shopify integration include an enhanced checkout experience, real-time inventory visibility across stores and online. It also offers a centralized hub for catalog, pricing, promotions, and inventory.
