Three Montgomery County communities are among the top five suburbs in the Philadelphia region where apartment renters can get the most bang for their buck, writes Sandy Smith for the Philadelphia Magazine.

To identify which five communities in the area have the most to offer for renters, RENTCafé looked at apartment sizes in the eight core counties of the Philadelphia Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Lansdale ranked second with an average apartment size of 1,020 square feet and average monthly rent of $1,536. This offers a small-city vibe and easy commute to and from the city.

Willow Grove is next in third place with an average apartment size of 934 square feet and average monthly rent of $1,398. The suburb is overflowing with nature trails and parks and offers a quick commute to the city.

King of Prussia rounds out the list in fourth place with an average apartment size of 916 square feet and average monthly rent of $1,641. It is the biggest edge city in the Philadelphia area and also home to the largest shopping mall in the country, KOP Mall.
