Chester County residents with a green thumb, or plans to grow one, have a winter date worth circling.

The Gardener’s Delight Winter Workshop takes place Saturday, February 7, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the United Church of Christ at Valley Forge in Wayne.
This free, hands on afternoon features seven Master Gardener workshops focused on practical skills for home gardeners.
Topics include Soil Health and Composting, Winter Sowing, and Planning Your Garden, along with additional sessions designed to help gardeners prepare for a successful growing season.
Chester County Master Gardeners will be available throughout the event to answer questions and offer guidance.
Participants will also find local environmental and garden information tables and plenty of seeds to take home.
Families are welcome. Kids activities include Build A Bug and a Valentine’s Day themed project.
Guests are encouraged to support the effort by purchasing raffle tickets or making donations in exchange for baked goods prepared by local volunteers.
The community garden donates all of its produce to a local food cupboard, which is a partner of the Chester County Food Bank.
The event is hosted at the United Church of Christ at Valley Forge, 45 Walker Road, Wayne.
Admission is free and open to the public.
