Several Montco student-athletes capped off dominant football seasons with statewide recognition, writes Tom Moore for Bucks County Courier Times.
Players from La Salle College High School and Lansdale Catholic High School were named to the Pennsylvania Football Writers’ All-State Teams.
La Salle led the way with five selections from its PIAA Class 6A state championship squad. Senior quarterback Gavin Sidwar earned Player of the Year honors after a record-setting career. Joey O’Brien landed repeat all-state recognition following a season that showcased his impact on both sides of the ball.
First-time honorees included offensive tackle Grayson McKeough, receiver Owen Johnson, and linebacker/tight end JP Oates. The group helped power one of the most productive offenses in the state.
Second-year head coach Brett Gordon was also recognized. He earned Class 6A Coach of the Year after guiding the Explorers to a 13-1 season and a state title, including two wins over St. Joseph’s Prep.
In Class 2A, Lansdale Catholic added to Montco’s strong showing. Quarterback Boa Cobbold was honored after leading the Crusaders to a District 12 title and a deep playoff run, while junior lineman Terrance Smith earned recognition despite missing time with injury.
