Music teacher Joe Ciccimaro, known by most of his students at La Salle College High School as “Mr. C,” received a special thank you for his more than 50 years of service, writes the Inside Edition staff.

Ciccimaro, 83, has directed the performing arts program at the all-boys high school in Wyndmoor for 54 years, and he has made a lasting impression on all his students. Many of whom came back to pay tribute to him as he retired.

As a special send-off, some of his former students came back to the school to be conducted by him one more time.

Among the 300 former students who gathered for the special send-off was Hugh Panaro. A member of the class of 1982, he has played the title role in “Phantom of the Opera” on Broadway.

Another one of his students, Frank Dilella told Inside Edition what made Ciccimaro so special was how he brought all the students together through a shared love of music.
