A Phoenixville family is desperate to bring their father home after he became stranded in Nevada following a medical emergency, writes Jennifer Lee for FOX 29 Philadelphia.
Bill Peters, 77-year-old Vietnam veteran and two-time Purple Heart recipient, and his wife, Cameron, closed their floral shop Cameron Peters Floral Design on March 10. They were preparing for their first vacation in ten years and planned to reopen the store on March 24.
Unfortunately, Bill caught the flu in Las Vegas and suffered respiratory failure. He has been hospitalized ever since, his wife by his side.
“I miss him, I really want him home here where we can all take care of him,” said daughter Missy Yetter.
Being on a ventilator, Bill cannot take a regular flight home. Instead, he needs medical transport.
“It’s really, really hard having to do everything by telephone and not be there for him and we just really want to try and get him home at this point,” said son John Peters, a Douglass Township Police officer.
The family has created a GoFundMe campaign for their parents’ expenses, as their small business and only source of income has been closed for over 40 days.
