Fort Washington’s Karabots Foundation has made another large donation to Jefferson Einstein Montgomery Hospital in East Norriton, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The $4 million donation will be used to purchase topography scanners for the Nicholas and Athena Karabots Diagnostic Center.
“Philanthropic support for these capital purchases makes an incredible impact in the quality of care our patients will receive,” said Dr. Ryan K. Lee, chairperson of radiology at Jefferson Einstein.
The foundation made an initial donation of $7.5 million to name the Nicholas and Athena Karabots Medical Building in Norristown in 2014. They also made a $2 million donation in 2020 for a CHOP primary care center in Norristown.
Nicholas Karabots, who died in 2021, formed the foundation with his wife Athena. Karabots owned various printing and publishing companies including Kappa Publishing Group based in Blue Bell.
They also established Blue Bell’s Karamoor Estate Vineyard and Winery.
