Caleigh Sperling said that her experiences playing for both North Penn and the Rebels has really shaped her as player.

North Penn High School’s Caleigh Sperling will be continuing her basketball career at Thomas Jefferson University, according to Andrew Robinson for City of Basketball Love.

Sperling said the school is the perfect fit. She said she first started talking with the Rams after her junior year season with North Penn. Her resume impressed them with a Hoop Group Showcase League (HGSL) 17U MVP and an HGSL title.

She also impressed the coaches with her performance this summer with the Lady Runnin Rebels, a travel team she has been a member of since the 9th grade. She then had a chance to show her skills on the court at Jefferson’s one-day Elite camp.

Sperling said that her experiences playing for both North Penn and the Rebels have really shaped her as a player.

“With the Rebels, I think I’ve really learned how to run and play really good transition basketball and speed it up a bit,” she said.

“The Rebels, I was more of a shooting guard, I could get to the corners and didn’t have to be the point guard where with North Penn, I’m one of the taller people on the team so I had to be relied on in the post too, even though I am a guard. I liked playing both ways, it’s different.”
