Abington Senior High Student and Sister Create Own Brand of Girls’ Basketball Clothing
Cire Worley, an Abington Senior High student, and her sister, Taylor Linton, started their own brand of basketball clothing for girls after they were unable to find any in stores, writes Isabella DiAmore for The Philadelphia inquirer.
Although she could find plenty of general athletic wear for women, Worley was frustrated by the lack of basketball-specific clothes for girls. At the start of every Amateur Athletic Union or high school basketball season, she was forced to buy boys’ clothes.
She realized that instead of expecting girls to settle for boys’ clothing, there should be apparel specifically aimed at girls’ basketball players.
It was during the pandemic that she and her sister decided to create their own brand.
Bucket Get(Her) was born within a year, and has since grown beyond the Philadelphia area. The brand now also co-hosts tournaments.
“We deserve to have our voices heard,” said Worley. “The more successful the brand is, the more we can give back, because that’s definitely a big part of this.”
