“Delco: The Movie” starts shooting Monday, July 31, under the guidance of independent filmmaker and Sun Valley High School graduate Chris Pierdomenico, writes Peg DeGrassa for the Daily Times.

“I want to get as many Delco people and Delco places into this film as possible,” Pierdomeico stated.

He’s been crowdfunding the film with a fundraising goal of $30,000, one-third of which was reached in the first 48 hours.

For $37, donors get into the film’s church scene, which includes “Clerks” trilogy and “Delco: The Movie” star Brian O’Halloran.

Pierdomenico grew up in Aston, Brookhaven and Parkside

He now lives in Maryland working as a TV, video production, and journalism teacher in Chester County and an adjunct communications professor at Cecil College in Maryland.

The film is set in 2004 and focuses on three Delaware County teens and their one crazy night.

It’s loosely based on Pierdomenico’s own years in high school.

His interest in filmmaking began in 2003, his senior year, after seeing Kevin Smith’s 1994 “Clerks.”

In 2004, he created a 70-minute movie starring friends, family members, and teachers that screened in the Sun Valley High School auditorium.

He’s continued to shoot short films and TV pilots ever since.
