A tally of some of the top-drawer amenities inside Pa. estates includes things like wine cellars, saunas, elevators, and indoor pools. But according to Lia Picard of The Wall Street Journal, a Montgomery County realtor has a listing that includes an Olympic-sized swimming pool under its roof.

Incorporating regulation sports set-ups in homes is becoming a trend for homeowners with the means to install and maintain them.

For instance, a Salem, Utah, contractor reports constructing about 10 indoor basketball courts for homeowners. A half-court installation runs $300,000–$500,000 because its height often requires a roof-line alteration.

Other sporting perks nationwide have included regulation-scale tennis courts, squash courts, and bowling alleys.

The Pocono-area home with the Olympic-sized swimming pool is represented by Nancy Matt of Keller-Williams Real Estate, Blue Bell.

It’s got more than just a legit hoops arena: The new purchaser (able to reach the current $2.9 million asking price) can choose one of several decks for after-workout relaxation or fully chill in the onsite movie theater.

Matt says the unusual perks “… just [increase] the value of these homes. It makes [them] more appealing to families, as well as people who want a retreat.”
