It starts with an elevator ride to a dramatic view and Mediterranean seafood to Nick Elmi’s and Fia Berisha’s Bala Cynwyd foodie spot, Lark, reports Jason Sheehan for Philadelphia Magazine.

Top Chef Nick Elmi and his partner Fia Berisha opened Lark in Bala Cynwyd in October, and the eatery has quickly grown into one of the local favorites.

Patrons get to enjoy the gorgeous outdoor patio that overlooks the windy Schuylkill River, friendly and professional service, and a plethora of delicious dishes, including the mouthwatering wide pillows of gnocco fritto served with silky ricotta and paper-thin prosciutto.

Red snapper tartare and sea urchin deviled eggs are “picnic food gone ridiculously glam, plated like an art installation, topped with crumbles of dried tomato, caper and olive,” Sheehan notes.

Elmi and Berisha offer harmony among their “glam picnic food” atop plates that lead to a gorgeous view either inside or out by the fire pit. Lark is on the seventh floor of the old Pencoyd Iron Works in Bala Cynwyd, revamped with a new hotel and eateries.

The creative dinner menu is complemented by a fresh bar program of elevated craft cocktails and a tasteful wine list. A seasonal variety of desserts will be made in-house and coffee and tea service are available

Lark is located at 611 Righters Ferry Road in Bala Cynwyd.
