Each week, the Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board (VFTCB) is recognizing hard-working hospitality employees, specifically during the COVID-19 pandemic.

To honor the travel industry, and share inspiring and positive stories, the VFTCB is currently putting a particular spotlight on folks in Montgomery County’s food and beverage industry.

This is ahead of the Board’s upcoming Crave Montco Month, by honoring different “Hospitality Heroes” on the organization’s social media channels, (primarily on Facebook and LinkedIn), which have more than 160,000 VFTCB/Visit Valley Forge followers.

This week’s VFTCB Hospitality Hero is Kathleen Lochel, Owner at Lochel’s Bakery on York Road in Hatboro.

A third-generation bakery, founded over 70 years ago, Lochel’s embodies the meaning of Main Street and appreciates the support from the local community.

Kathleen Lochel states, “Throughout the pandemic, our bakery never gave up, never looked back… only ahead. I led the most fantastic group and we’re not stopping.”

Lochel’s earned global reach when their famous presidential election cookies went viral in the fall. Located in downtown Hatboro, Lochel’s is a MUST for all your bakery cravings.

Kathleen and team, the VFTCB thanks you for all you do for the residents and visitors of Montgomery County!

If you would like to nominate a colleague or friend, please email VFTCB Social Media Manager, Samantha Cummons at cummons@valleyforge.org.
