Pennsylvania bourbon and rye whiskey lovers: You’re in for a true treat, writes Paul Guggenheimer for the Trib Live

Interested buyers need to be quick. And lucky.

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) is offering residents the chance to buy 213 bottles of 28 rare whiskeys. It will do so via five lotteries with multiple draws.

The coveted drinks include Pappy Van Winkle’s Family Reserve Straight Bourbon, Straight Rye Whiskey and Buffalo Trace Antique Collection Bourbons and Rye Whiskey.

The whiskies are 10-25 years old.

Residents and licensees can enter one or more lotteries today (Thursday, April 29) at Limited-Release Lottery web page at FWGS.com

There are a few limitations, including the caveat of one bottle per person per lottery. But hopeful sippers can enter across multiple draws.

Highlights among the distilled delights up for grabs include a 23-year-old bottle of Pappy Van Winkle’s Family Reserve Straight Bourbon. Three 25-year-old bottles of Michter’s Straight Bourbon are also available.
