I don’t know about you, but the one thing that kept me sane during the pandemic (and the pandemic that is currently in its second year, but I digress) is pizza. How I love pizza, because on some days after covering hard-hitting Montco news and events and Covid-19 updates, the one thing I really wanted- was just pizza. So I’m looking at you, Royersford pizza places!

I live in Mont Clare, the very edge of Montgomery County, and well, we don’t have a pizza joint. We have the Eagle’s Nest Deli for sandwiches and Produce Junction for fruits and veggies, but as far as pizza goes, I need to stretch a bit out of my neighborhood.

I can head across the river into Chester County, which has great pizza. Usually, though, I reach out in Royersford where I grew up and grab pies at several of my favorite shops.

GIOVANNI'S PIZZERIA detroit style
Detroit-style pizza from Giovanni’s Pizzeria in Royersford.

Royersford is no stranger to good pizza joints and has experienced a revitalization in places to nosh, but today, I am focused on pizza.

Fabulous mozzarella cheese, thinner crust, excellent sauce, not too sweet, pepperoni, full of oregano and basil—you know what I’m talking about. I know Montco has so many fabulous pizza places, and today we are starting with Rofo.

Here are few of my favorite Royersford pizza places:

Giovanni’s Pizza & Restaurant (located at 466 Main St, Royersford, in the old Rofo post office, 610-948-3693). Giovanni’s is where I go when I want to sit down and enjoy specialty pizzas.

Currently on their menu is the Detroit-style pizza. This one-size only 10×14” pizza is made on blue steel pans made with brick cheese and covered with sauce on top plus a sprinkle of Grana Padano cheese.

Don’t miss this pizza, only available for call-ahead on the weekend. Try their family-style pasta specials, too.

It’s also a BYOB! Bring your own bottle and relax.

Rossi’s Pizza, in the old Famous Mr D’s location (located at 301 N. Lewis Road, Park Towne Plaza in Royersford, 610-792-1974) was where I grew up getting pizza. Now it’s Rossi’s Pizza! It’s a fun place to get great Italian comfort food. My parents get pizza from Rossi’s all the time.

This pizza joint offers thin-crust, deep-dish & Sicilian pies, burgers, and fries, plus Italian favorites like Baked Ziti and Chicken Parm.

Palermo’s Pizza (Located at 70 Buckwalter Road at Limerick Square Shopping Center in Royersford, 610-948-4926 )where we grab pizza a couple times a month.

It’s easy to order, they are super-nice, and a great price. Thinner crust, a subtly sweet sauce, all covered over with fine cheeses equal a nice slice indeed. Also located in Blue Bell. Use the Slice app to order!

Dimitri’s Pizza (located at 326 N Lewis Road in Royersford, 610-792-3276) where family recipes and home-cooked pastas equal a fabulous Italian meal to awaken your tastebuds.

Enjoy traditional pizzas, wings, specialty garlic knots, sautéed perogies, mussels in white or red sauce, and so much more, so go hungry!

Who’s Got a Slice?

In fact, I’m hungry now. Which pizza place should I go too? What I am in the mood for?

Whatever your mood is, you’ll find a pizza place in Royersford that satisfies your appetite.

Where’s your favorite Rofo pizza joint? Did I include your favorites? Who did I miss? Time to get out there and get a slice in Royersford!
