With many buyers looking for a home in Montgomery County and not enough available inventory, the time houses are on the market continues to diminish, writes Cynthia Henry for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The typical home in Montgomery County for sale in many zip codes now stays on the market for a week or sometimes less.

Still, some areas are in more demand than others and are ahead of places where homes still stay on the market for a month or longer.

In Montgomery County, ZIP Code 19444 (Lafayette Hill) was the hottest market for January and February. Houses were being snatched up within four days on average, compared to 18 days a year ago.

ZIP Codes 19438 (Harleysville) and 19468 (Royersford) are close behind with an average of five days on the market.

Next are ZIP Codes 19001 (Abington,) 19044 (Horsham,) and 19464 (Pottstown) with a 6-day average on the market.

Meanwhile, homes in ZIP Code 19072 (Narberth) are selling within 34 days, an improvement compared to 63 days a year ago.

However homes in ZIP Code 19095 (Wyncote) are staying on the market for 50 days, the same as in 2020. Read more about the housing market in The Philadelphia Inquirer.
