Gabe Rodrigues and Travis McQuoid found the perfect trade-up for their cramped Queens rental in King of Prussia amid the pandemic, writes Sandy Smith for the Philadelphia Magazine.

The pair moved to the area for work, but wanted to maintain a walkable urban living experience.

“We didn’t want to have to commute down the Schuylkill,” said McQuoid.

They also wanted more space with better access to nature.

The Hanover King of Prussia complex in the Village at Valley Forge not only provided exactly what they were looking for, but also came in at a lower price. The couple used to pay $2,400-per-month for a 600-square-foot apartment in Astoria, Queens. Their new place is 900-square-foot and costs $1,800-per-month.

McQuoid, who lived at the Victor in Camden in 2016, was pleasantly surprised with the development that has occurred in the area since then.

“Seeing all of this was something of a shock,” he said. It was a pleasant shock, though.

“At the same time that we liked the city, we also like this calmness and this suburban environment,” said Rodrigues.
