East Greenville-based Knoll Plans to Expand its Montco Footprint in 2021 with Help from State

East Greenville-based Knoll, the globally known furniture and textiles design and manufacturing firm, is planning to expand its footprint in Montco in 2021.

East Greenville-based Knoll, the globally known furniture and textiles design and manufacturing firm, is planning to expand its footprint in Montgomery County in 2021 with the state’s help, writes Joe Zlomek for the Sanatoga Post.

The company has received more than $783,000 in Pennsylvania funding assistance, which it will supplement with a multi-million investment of its own, said Gov. Tom Wolf and 24th District state Sen. Bob Mensch earlier this week.

According to Mensch, the company is currently implementing a “three-step relocation approach” to first consolidate its operations and then grow them in the county.

The company will first move its textile team from East Greenville to a new facility in Quakertown, before relocating a manufacturing line from its Michigan plant to East Greenville.

Knoll will also relocate its current Allentown operations closer to East Greenville and expand them.

These operational changes will generate at least 138 new jobs in the area.

Pennsylvania is providing funding for the operation through a $425,000 Pennsylvania First grant, $276,000 in job creation tax credits, and $82,800 in funding for job training. Knoll will invest $6.8 million in the projects.
