ASM Global has named Hatboro native John Drum as the new general manager of U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, writes Rochelle Olson for the Star Tribune.

Before the official appointment, Drum was already serving as acting general manager at the stadium for eight months. However due to the pandemic, most of that time was spent outside of the unique giant building where his office is located.

Now that he is officially in charge of overseeing bookings and event operations at the stadium, he has expressed optimism about being able to go back inside in 2021 and continue welcoming Viking fans and hosting Gophers baseball and summer mega concerts.

“That’s what we live for,” said Drum. “The good part is, I truly believe we’re on the upswing now and events are coming back and we’ll be prepared.”

As the point man for ASM, Drum will be instrumental in reopening the venue and ensuring the safety of all visitors. He will do this by drawing from his decades of event and venue experience, including most recently running operations at Cardinals Stadium, now known as State Farm Stadium.
