Two talented Montgomery County artists are among four of Main Line’s hottest designers who are reshaping trends and making their names known worldwide, writes Lisa Dukart for the Main Line Today.

King of Prussia’s Addie Elabor did not have a fashion background when she was looking to start a creative venture, but she had a good idea of what she wanted to do.

So in 2014 Elabor decided to launch her own line of African-inspired garments in modern silhouettes. She worked with a local designer to translate her ideas into apparel she describes as “very cultural and very niche.”

Now her brand, D’IYANU, rolls out around eight collections each year. She currently offers seasonal, resort, activewear, and holiday lines, in addition to a Black History Month collection.

Meanwhile, Bryn Mawr’s Maddalena Casale Palermo is the creative force behind Madda.co lifestyle brand as well as her Ambitious Elegance line.

The artist always focuses less on the product and more on the design process. However she always keeps in mind the woman she is designing for to ensure she is meeting all her needs, from “the boardroom to the soccer field.”
