It’s not even September yet, but Radial, an e-commerce company based in King of Prussia, is preparing for the holiday season by adding 800 seasonal employees for its Burlington Township fulfillment center.
Radial, which handles the e-commerce experience from ordering to shipping for brands like Kate Spade New York, DSW and PetSmart, said the South Jersey center needs the hundreds of workers to meet the upcoming spike in demand, writes Michelle Caffrey in the Philadelphia Business Journal.
Currently Radial, which was acquired last year by bpost, a Belgian shipping and postal heavy-hitter, has about 400 employees at its King of Prussia headquarters. Overall, in the U.S., Canada and Europe, Radial operates two dozen fulfillment sites and customer service centers and has thousands of employees.
Radial is second to only Amazon in terms of operations and seasonal employee base, which nationwide swells by tens of thousands this time of year. It markets the positions as offering competitive hourly wages, flexible schedule, overtime and holiday pay, employee discounts and a referral bonus program. Transitioning into a full-time role is also an option in some markets, it said.
The growth doesn’t come as a surprise as bpost said it planned to expand Radial’s operations when it announced the acquisition in October 2017. The Belgian company was drawn to Radial for its strong technology and access to major brands as bpost aimed to take advantage of the fast-growing global e-commerce market through its U.S. subsidiary, Landmark Global.
