Dan Siegel, a Jenkintown resident, is leading Pennsylvania’s Jewish Americans for Biden’s outreach program as its new outreach director for the former vice president’s state campaign team, writes Jesse Bernstein for the Jewish Chronicle.

In 2016, Donald Trump won Pennsylvania’s 20 electoral votes by fewer than 45,000 votes. Now Siegel is working on reversing that result – not a small feat to achieve in a crucial swing state.

“Man, as an organizer by training, I’m overwhelmed by it,” said Siegel. “But as a member of this community, I feel empowered by the task.”

The program was launched on September 3, during a Zoom conference where several prominent Jewish figures from the Keystone State extolled Biden and his campaign. Also present was Doug Emhoff, husband of vice presidential nominee and California Senator Kamala Harris.

Afterward, Siegel emphasized that he plans to let Trump’s record speak for itself and just focus on the Democratic candidate.

“What I think we need to do,” said Siegel, “is remind people that he is the person we need, not just on Israel, but on the other multitude of values that Jewish Americans vote on, care about and live every day.”
