Aracely Lebron reflects on the bullying she had experienced from classmates for years before coming to Manor College.

Aracely Lebron, a Philadelphia native and a first-generation student at Manor College, used her fresh start at Abington school to overcome bullying, according to a staff report from Manor College.

When she was writing the entrance essay for Manor College’s Dental Hygiene program, Lebron immediately knew how to respond to the prompt “What is one of the toughest challenges that you faced in your life.”

She used the essay to reflect on the bullying she had experienced from classmates for years, ever since kindergarten.

The bullying started as name calling but grew to where her belongings were destroyed regularly, and she was manipulated into doing other students’ homework assignments. The abuse turned her into a loner.

Lebron joined Manor College in 2021 and from the moment she stepped on campus, she felt like she was given an opportunity to leave that bullying in the past. She started to leave her loner life behind and transform into a confident woman.

“Everything shifted for me once I applied to Manor,” said Lebron. “It was a new start to actually be myself. I love to talk. I love to help out. At Manor, I’m able to do that without my past following me.”
