The SunnyBrook Ballroom, a premier event venue in Lower Pottsgrove, will host the country’s first “Social Distancing Drive-in Wedding” on June 20.

After having to close its doors due to the COVID-19 pandemic in March, the staff at the large venue created a “Social Distancing Drive-in” on their parking lot. The event quickly became a huge hit with sellouts every weekend.

Now, the venue is taking that idea to the next level and holding its first Drive-in Wedding.

“I just couldn’t break another bride’s heart,” said JoAnne Paquette, Sales Director at the SunnyBrook Ballroom.

Working together with her team, Paquette designed a plan that would most likely is the first of its kind in the country. The bride and groom will have the ceremony in the Wedding Garden.

It will be filmed and live-streamed onto the drive-in movie screen, allowing guests to watch from their cars. The couple will have their first dance on a stage in front of the theater screen. Menu of choice will be served to the guests by a golf cart.

When they learned about all the preparations, the happy couple was overjoyed.

“We just want to get married,” they said, “we’re happy you figured out a way!”
