For residents in need of COVID-19 testing, Montgomery County has six community-based sites open to the public.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend preferential testing for hospitalized or institutionalized symptomatic patients, symptomatic workers in these facilities, community residents with symptoms, and those recommended for testing by their department of health or health care provider.
Montgomery County residents experiencing the more benign COVID-19 symptoms are asked to remain home without testing, reports 6abc.com. If symptoms become worse, contact your regular health care provider.
Residents without a provider can call the Pennsylvania Department of Health at 1-877-PA-Health.
Public testing does not require insurance or a provider’s referral, according to the county website. The testing sites are drive-through locations requiring an appointment. Appointments are scheduled for the day they are made.
Montgomery County testing sites are located at:
- Lansdale Rite Aid, 1856 N. Broad St., Lansdale, 19446;
- Chalfont CVS, 3265 County Line Rd., Chalfont, 18914;
- Lansdale CVS, 840 S. Valley Forge Rd., Lansdale, 19446;
- Montgomery County Community College, 340 Dekalb Pike, Blue Bell, 19422;
- Plymouth Meeting CVS, 2400 Butler Pike, Plymouth Meeting, 19462;
- Jenkintown CVS, 835 Old York Rd., Jenkintown, 19046.
The county recommends arriving at drive-through sites alone. Bring your registration form, picture identification, insurance information, and employee identification when relevant.
The county website provides information if these suggestions cannot be followed.
Testing is self-administered via nasal swab.
Both the CDC and Montgomery County provide guidelines for behavior and monitoring while waiting for results. The results are provided by phone.
