See How Montgomery County Ranks Among Counties with Lowest Hospital Bed Capacity in Pennsylvania

Montgomery County is in the top half among the counties with the lowest hospital bed capacity for Pennsylvania, according to a new ranking by Stacker.

Stacker compiled a list of the counties with the lowest in-patient bed capacity in the state as of September 29 using data from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Montgomery County ranked in No. 26 with 85 percent of inpatient beds occupied, six percent of that by COVID-19 patients. This is 1.2 fuller than overall in Pennsylvania.

The county has 78 percent of occupied ICU beds, 12 percent of those are COVID-19 patients. This is six percent more availability than in the Keystone State overall.

The county has recorded 144 cases per 100,000 residents in the last seven days, or 1,196 cases total.

Meanwhile, the percentage of the fully vaccinated population is at 59.8 percent, or 496,488 fully vaccinated residents. This is a 3.5 percent higher vaccination rate than in Pennsylvania.

Among neighboring counties, Bucks County ranked lowest in No. 43, Chester County placed in No. 36, and Delaware County came in No. 32.
