Tired Hands Brewing in Ardmore has been named as one of the semifinalists for the 2020 James Beard Awards, the national competition often called the Oscars of the food and beverage world, writes Laura Smythe for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

This year is the 30th anniversary of these prestigious awards.

Earlier this week, the James Beard Foundation released the list of semifinalists across 23 categories.

Tired Hands Brewing made the list in the Outstanding Wine, Beer, or Spirits Producer category. In addition to the Ardmore establishment, 10 more Philadelphia area restaurants and chefs made the list.

The final nominees will be announced at a live-streamed event at The Barnes Foundation on March 25, in partnership with Visit Philadelphia. The winners will be announced in Chicago on May 4.
