Las Vegas casino operator Boyd Gaming secured its expansion into the Pennsylvania market Monday with the announcement that its long-planned purchase of Valley Forge Casino Resort was complete.
The acquisition will cost the gambling corporation $250.5 million, write Alison Burdo and Kenneth Hilario at bizjournals.com.

“Valley Forge represents a key expansion of our nationwide portfolio, giving us the opportunity to serve the vibrant Northeast region,” said Keith Smith, president and CEO of Boyd Gaming, in a statement.
Founded in 1975, Boyd Gaming now owns 25 casino properties across eight states — Nevada, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Pennsylvania.
