Philadelphia is well known for its die-hard sports fans, world class cheese steaks, and of course, for “Being the birthplace of freedom and Democracy.”

For those of us who were raised just outside of the city, we know that everything Philly gets credit for is reflected in the suburbs. “I’m talking about the Philadelphia suburbs known as Montgomery County: where the rough and tumble attitude of the city meets the quaint appeal of Amish country.,”writes Rachel Semigran for Bustle.com.

A real party had to have a Corropolese tomato pie on the menu

Corropolese bakery is a Montgomery County staple. Any other tomato pie is a cheap knockoff in the hearts and minds of Montco residents. Corrpolese tomato pie was at every party worth going to.

There is only one way to pronounce Conshohocken

Anyone who lives in Montgomery County can tell you “Conshy” is the only pronunciation that will fly.

Wawa is the only convenience store for you

Montco residents are fiercely loyal to Wawa. The beloved chain of convenience stores was founded in Pennsylvania 54 years ago.

Field trips to the Franklin Institute and The Philadelphia Zoo are fond memories

Everyone remembers walking through the giant heart on field trips to the Franklin Institute, and wasting allowance money on ice cream at the zoo. These trips were the highlight of the school year in elementary school and middle school.
