The Halal Guys, one of New York City’s most popular food carts, will be opening its first brick-and-mortar restaurant in Pennsylvania in King of Prussia, writes Kenneth Hilario of the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Renowned for its menu of American Halal food, gyro sandwiches, chicken-and-rice platters and “secret white sauce,” the Manhattan-based food cart will be coming to the Valley Forge Shopping Center.

According to Hilario, the franchise development company Fransmart — which worked with Five Guys — secured franchised units across the United States. The Halal Guys restaurants are located in Houston, Chicago, and Northern and Southern California.

The King of Prussia restaurant is slated to open in September.

The Valley Forge Shopping Center has various retail tenants, including a 165,000-square-foot Target, Michaels, and Bed Bath & Beyond. Its restaurant tenants include Wild Rice, McDonald’s, and Starbucks.

After 25 years in business in New York, The Halal Guys is “going global.” More than 200 restaurants are in development around the world, according to the company’s website.
