For brothers Chris and Frank Pacitti, opening Pacitti Brothers Hot Dogs & Ice Cream in Hatboro last month was never just about food—it was about family, fun, and community. The Pacitti brothers wanted to create a gathering place where neighbors could enjoy a great treat and even better memories.
“I picture bicycles parked out front as kids ride over for a scoop,” Chris said. “I want to be a baby’s first taste of ice cream – Johnny’s first date with Sally.”
From day one, the shop has been a full family operation. Chris and Frank’s parents, kids, nieces, nephews, and especially their sister Kate—who runs the day-to-day operations—are all part of the team. “Kate’s the glue,” says Chris. “She jumped into this role and just owned it.”
The brothers proudly serve ice cream from Bassetts, America’s oldest creamery, based in Philadelphia. “Ice cream is half the menu,” Chris said. “We needed to bring in the good stuff.”
The menu reflects that spirit of creativity and indulgence. Highlights include “The Deborah,” a sundae topped with a Little Debbie snack, fudge or caramel, homemade whipped cream, and jimmies. They make pretzel bowls stacked with chili, cheese, bacon, and more. “The Philly” is a soft pretzel-based sundae that’s as decadent as it is unique.
Community response has been enthusiastic. Local sports teams have become regulars, and the brothers look forward to all the Hatboro events and youth organizations.
“I remember summers running around Hatboro as a kid. We’re just excited to be a part of that and to hopefully make some memories for the next generation.”
Pacitti Brothers Hot Dogs and Ice Cream is open Wednesdays through Mondays at 11 AM, and closed on Tuesdays.
