Creating Unique Glass Art at Taylor Backes Studio in Boyertown: Accessible to All Skill Levels

Artists of all skill levels can create beautiful pieces at Taylor Backes glass studio, which has been serving Boyertown for nearly 4 decades.

Artists of all skill levels can create beautiful and unique pieces at Taylor Backes Glass Studio in Boyertown, which has been serving the community for nearly four decades, reports Todd Haas for 6abc.

“Glass blowing, unlike most art forms, is very choreographed,” said Will Dexter, founder of Taylor Backes. “It’s almost like a dance.”

In addition to creating amazing works of glass art, the studio teaches others how to do it.

“We have a school now because our classes have gone so well,” said Dexter. “The school is called The Glass Art Institute and Teaching Facility.”

The classes are taught by a team of four.

“The commonality is that they’re all very, very kind and superpatient people who are passionate about glass making, and they share that passion with the people who are taking the classes,” said Dexter.

To register for a class, participants need to call ahead and give the total number of people who will be attending.

“We love to share what we do and do demonstrations so that people can come in and see something totally different,” said Dexter.
