Chestnut Grove, a popular rock band from Boyertown gives their all in farewell album “Can’t Stand the Music,” writes Ben Silver for Main Line Today.

The members of the band started playing together when they were in high school at Boyertown Senior High School and went on to tour the East Coast and Midwest headlining at venues like the Trocadero, World Café Live, and Ardmore Music Hall.

Co-lead singer James Daniels said that money and needing to find a better work/life balance were big factors in the decision to go on hiatus.

Before taking a hiatus though, they wanted to give their fans one last album. Released on January 9, the album is a unique blend of ‘90s alt-rock and R&B.

In an interview with Main Line Today, Daniels and his co-lead singer Dee Gerhart discuss the making of the album.

“We’ve never had a real agenda of what music we are trying play, whether it’s indie rock, R&B, classic rock, or a slew of a lot of those things. And over the years I feel like we’ve just allowed ourselves to grow. I think this record that just came out culminates a lot of the things we’ve tried to accomplish…,” Daniels said.
