A new brewpub is breathing fresh life into a Montco building that once supplied George Washington’s troops during the Revolutionary War, writes Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
Concordance Ferments officially opened its doors on October 1 at 18 Horsham Road in Hatboro. Owner Abe Goldstein transformed the 301-year-old mill along Pennypack Creek into a three-story dining destination.
Goldstein says the goal was to build more than a brewery. “We wanted to build a place that feels warm, genuine, and memorable,” he said. “Where the history of the building, the care we put into our beer, and the ingredients in our food all come together to create something special for our guests.”
The 8,100-square-foot space features a cozy first-floor lounge, a second-floor dining room, and a third-level event space, with outdoor patios overlooking the creek.
Chef Max Hosey leads the kitchen, crafting locally sourced and seasonal fare like house meatballs with demi-glace and pomme purée. Head brewer Dave Sakolsky curates a lineup that includes an American pale ale, Italian pils, porter, and upcoming Berliner weisse.
Open Tuesday through Sunday, Concordance Ferments aims to be both a neighborhood gathering spot and a celebration of Hatboro’s enduring history — where old-world charm meets modern craft.
