With back-to-school season gradually approaching, Jasmin Yahné School of Dance in Jenkintown is helping local families by offering free book bags, school supplies, and dance, reports Erin Coleman for NBC10 Philadelphia.
Jasmine Johnson Lincoln considers sharing her love of dance her true calling.
“It teaches them so much about themselves,” she said. “It teaches them discipline, perseverance, their self-confidence, self-awareness, body awareness.”
Jasmin Yahné dance studio is open to children ages 2 through the teen years – and it is truly a family affair.
“They all call me Aunt Jas,” said Johnson Lincoln. “My mother is here, my husband is here, my two aunts are here, my grandmother is here.”
Jasmin Yahné was the first dance program to ever dance alongside the Eagles cheerleaders.
“We also are a national championship-winning team,” said Johnson Lincoln.
The studio and its members love to give back by volunteering and hosting free events for the whole community. Over the weekend, the studio held a free book bag giveaway that were all filled with school supplies to help families prepare.
