Montgomery County is home to two places that are among the best small towns to live in on the East Coast, write Aine Givens and Andrew Jose for Stacker.
To compile the list, Stacker used Niche’s 2022 Best Places to Live rankings, which considered factors such as living expenses, safety, weather quality, as well as access to healthy living.
Narberth ranked sixth among the best small towns on the East Coast. The charming suburb has a population of 4,467, a median home value of $550,600, a median rent of $1,528, and a median household income of $128,889. It scores especially high for families, thanks to strong schools and a family-friendly atmosphere.
Jenkintown came in at No. 14, with a population of 4,681, a median home value of $292,900, a median rent of $1,337, and a median household income of $120,172. Named after founder William Jenkins, the borough promotes itself as a “pedestrian-oriented community” where residents can shop and dine on foot and their children can easily walk to school.
