Osushi Ardmore, part of Sam Li’s expanding Asian empire, has recently doubled in size to accommodate more seating and introduces a sleek new full-service bar, writes Ed Williams for the Main Line Today.
Li first entered the restaurant industry with his grandparents, who opened the Oriental Palace in Lawnside, New Jersey, nearly five decades ago. Today, he oversees the still-thriving restaurant while steadily expanding his portfolio, including sushi-focused spots like Osushi locations in Wayne, Ardmore, and Marlton, New Jersey.
His most recent project was the expansion of the Ardmore space. Adorned with warm wood tones and amber lighting, the restaurant also includes a 100-seat special-occasion room at the rear.
The bar, equipped with comfortable, well-designed stools, serves beautifully crafted cocktails like the coconut-flavored, pineapple-garnished Blue Hawaiian. It also offers a selection of Japanese sake and premium whiskeys.
Chef Stanley Chen crafts the restaurant’s signature dishes, including the three-piece crispy-rice tuna, kanpachi crudo, and wagyu beef roll with lobster tempura. Local favorites like spring rolls, branzino, and miso black cod also grace the menu. Lunchtime guests can enjoy bento boxes and hibachi options as well.
