Main Line Health NICUs Boost Bonding With High-Tech and Heart

Parents with NICU babies at Lankenau now have 24/7 video access thanks to The Superhero Project’s latest donation and support from Chiesi.

Families with newborns in Lankenau Hospital’s NICU now have a new way to stay connected, thanks to a $50,000 donation from The Superhero Project, writes the Delco Times.

The funds will help install AngelEye CameraSystems, giving parents 24/7 secure, remote access to their babies through a livestreaming app. The technology is already being implemented at Lankenau in Wynnewood and will eventually expand across all Main Line Health NICUs.

The donation is part of a broader initiative from The Superhero Project, a nonprofit founded by Kelly Gallagher to support NICU families. The effort also includes a national partnership with healthcare company Chiesi, Inc., which is helping hospitals provide programs like Lullabies of Love, where parents can record themselves reading to their newborns. These comforting messages are played bedside when families can’t be present.

As part of the partnership, 300 families will also receive gas gift cards to ease travel costs to and from the hospital—a small gesture that makes a big difference.

Gallagher noted the importance of parents staying close to their children while in the NICU. “There is always a need for bonding,” she said.
