East Greenville’s Own Sabrina Carpenter Lands First Country Hit With Dolly Parton

East Greenville’s Sabrina Carpenter debuts on Billboard’s Country chart with Dolly Parton, expanding her genre reach.

Sabrina Carpenter’s music career has officially crossed genres, writes Hugh McIntyre for Forbes.

Fresh off winning Best Pop Vocal Album at the Grammys, the East Greenville singer-songwriter lands her first entry on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart.

Her track Please Please Please debuts at No. 17, thanks to a new duet version featuring country legend Dolly Parton. The song was reworked with a more country-leaning sound for the deluxe edition of Short n’ Sweet, which dropped recently. Strong sales and streaming numbers for the expanded album helped fuel its rise on the charts.

Billboard reports that Please Please Please is now being serviced to country radio. This will potentially opening doors for Carpenter on more country charts in the coming weeks. While this is her first country hit, the song isn’t new—its original version hit No. 1 on the Hot 100 in June, marking Carpenter’s first chart-topper.

For Parton, however, this is familiar territory. Please Please Please becomes her 112th Hot Country Songs entry, adding to her legendary career, which includes 55 top 10 hits and 25 No. 1s. With this collaboration, Carpenter’s reach continues to grow, proving she’s more than just a pop star.
