During her Grammy acceptance speech for Short n’ Sweet, Sabrina Carpenter took the time to give a shoutout to Bala Cynwyd.

During her 2025 Grammy Awards acceptance speech for Best Pop Vocal Album for Short n’ Sweet, Sabrina Carpenter took the time to give a shoutout to Bala Cynwyd, writes Michaela Althouse for the Philly Voice.

“I want to thank my mom for driving me to every voice lesson in Bala Cynwyd,” said Carpenter, a Quakertown native who grew up in East Greenville.

While she said that this was her first Grammy during her speech, the pop star also took home Best Pop Solo Performance for her hit song Espresso during Sunday’s pre-show ceremony.

To top it off, she received nominations for Record of the Year for Espresso, Album of the Year for Short n’ Sweet, Song of the Year for Please Please Please, and Best New Artist.

Carpenter performed a jazzy mashup of her two summer hits – Espresso and Please Please Please – during the show.

Montgomery County also had another winner on Sunday: Jenkintown native Bradley Cooper who won Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media for his film Maestro, alongside Philadelphia Orchestra music and artistic director Yannick Nézet-Séguin.
