The Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center in Pennsburg is holding its third annual Basket Raffle during Christmas Market, the weekend of Dec. 7 and 8, with over 50 baskets.
This fundraiser highlights local businesses and supports the Heritage Center’s work throughout the year. The sale of items from the Heritage Gift Shop and the wonderful rummage sale also support the Heritage Center in sharing local history throughout the year. Hours will be 9:30 AM-4:00 PM on Saturday, Dec. 7, and 12:00-4:00 PM on Sunday, Dec. 8.
Not only is the Basket Raffle bigger and better this year, but it will also be easier to express your desires. Tickets are two for $1 and 12 for $5. But for those who wish to increase their chances by purchasing 25 tickets for $10, this year there will be a different type of raffle ticket where you only need to write your name one time! Winning tickets will be pulled on Monday, Dec. 9.
Other local highlights include holiday music by students from the Valley. At 10:30 AM, the Upper Perkiomen High School Jazz Club will play under the direction of Kierstin Hildenbrand. At 1:00 PM, Dr. Mark Thomas will direct the Uptones, the Select Choir from the high school. On Sunday, beginning at 1:00 PM, students from the Harmony Corner Music School will perform under the direction of Cynthia Hector.
Red Hill’s own LEGO© MasterThayden Reinhart of Matrix Builds also is adding to the LEGO Putz with a train layout. The first 50 children ages four to 12 will have the opportunity to build and take home a brick-built train from a kit containing genuine LEGO® pieces.
