The holiday season comes to life in Pennsburg as the Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center hosts its beloved Christmas Market on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 9:30 AM-4:00 PM, and Sunday, Dec. 7, from 12-4:00 PM.

This cherished community event blends the spirit of old-fashioned holiday celebrations with the creativity and craftsmanship of local artisans.

Guests can enjoy a one-of-a-kind shopping experience in the Heritage Shop, featuring Pennsylvania-themed items, handmade crafts, original gifts for children, artisan wares, and books that celebrate regional history and tradition. Whether you’re searching for the perfect keepsake or simply enjoying a day of browsing, the market offers something special for every visitor.

This year’s event also features the charming “Holidaze” exhibit, displaying nostalgic decorations from the past century — not only for Christmas, but also for Halloween and Easter. Returning as a highlight of the season, the Traditional Putz scene brings to life miniature landscapes from local farms and suburban neighborhoods, offering a delightful glimpse into Pennsylvania’s cultural heritage.

Treasure hunters won’t want to miss the Holiday Rummage Sale, filled with antique and vintage decorations, or the 4th Annual Basket Raffle, featuring more prizes and baskets than ever before. For young visitors, there’s an extra treat — the first 50 children ages five to 12 will receive a free LEGO Christmas ornament, making it a perfect family outing.

The weekend also includes live holiday music to set the festive mood. The Upper Perkiomen High School Choir will perform on Saturday at 1:00 PM. And on Sunday at 2:00 PM, students from Harmony Music will take the stage to spread even more cheer.

The Schwenkfelder Christmas Market is more than a shopping destination; it’s a celebration of community, creativity, and holiday joy. Learn more about the market here, and explore more seasonal traditions across the region at PA German Christmas.
