Chrissy Dress has had an unconventional journey to owning Ardmore’s Cure de Repos, writes Ben Silver for Main Line Today.
She went from bartending to working at high-end spas, and even doing makeup for film stars. All the while, she spent decades honing her skills and chasing her dreams.
Today, Cure de Repos offers over a dozen treatments, including waxing, facials, massages, and infrared light saunas, blending old-world hospitality with modern wellness.
The first Cure de Repos opened Chestnut Hill’s Germantown Avenue in 2016. At the time, Dress was working in Langhorne, feeling stuck and unfulfilled. A chance encounter with an empty storefront sparked an idea. Four months later, her first spa was open.
Dress’s determination and experience set her apart. She drew from her experience reviving a struggling Hand and Stone in Doylestown, and learning from industry leaders. Cure de Repos Chestnut Hill quickly gained accolades, including Best of Philly and Best of the Main Line.
Now, with the Ardmore location open, Dress is looking ahead. She dreams of one day creating a destination resort spa with equine therapy and international flair. For now, Cure de Repos continues to bring upscale, European-style wellness to the Main Line, offering a serene retreat for health-conscious clients.
