A Dresher-based developer looks to build their ‘legacy property’ next to Dresher’s Promenade in Upper Dublin, reports Paul Schwedelson for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The proposed project will replace the former Prudential Insurance Company property. Developers BET Investments plan to build 600 apartments along with townhomes, hotels, senior assisted living homes, stores and restaurants on the land off of Welsh Road.
“The way we’re looking at this is it’s such an opportunity to build our legacy project,” BET Investments President Michael Markman said.
BET submitted plans to the township last month with requests for zoning changes. The whole project is expected to take up to ten years. Construction for the apartments is estimated to begin at the end of 2025. Demolition of the existing property is expected to begin in the next couple of weeks.
BET Investments is also working with local municipalities to install a new Pennsylvania Turnpike exchange on the property.
Rent in the apartments is expected to average around $2,500/month with amenities like indoor and outdoor pools and a large fitness center.
