Ambler Savings Bank has been a fixture in the Ambler community since 1874, but its brand recognition elsewhere in the Philadelphia region hasn’t always been as strong as it is in its hometown, writes Jeff Blumenthal for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

That’s why Carolyn Watson, the bank’s marketing director, is trying to raise brand awareness, particularly about their business loans, elsewhere in the Philadelphia region through television ads.

In 2022, Ambler Savings Bank ran a six-month television ad campaign to reach more people living and working in Montgomery County.

“We’re not specifically targeting a new checking account or a specific promotion, but just the awareness that we are part of the local business, we’re here to support our community,” Watson said.

The three ads highlighted local businesses Ambler Savings Bank had either provided with credit or other banking services. Featured clients included the owner of Jenkintown’s Nicole Bridal and the owner of Via Veneto Italian Water Ice in East Norriton.

The newest ad which began running in November features Pete Penna of Fireside Bar & Grille in Ambler who wanted to open Penna’s Italian Market in Springhouse.

In the ad, Ambler Savings Bank CEO Roger Zacharia talks about why the bank provides loans to local businesses.
