On Friday, December 8, the Norristown Garden Club welcomed tourgoers to the 73rd annual Holiday House tour which included five different homes in Plymouth Meeting, Norristown, and Lafayette Hill, writes For MediaNews Group.

The focus of this year’s tour was on using fresh flowers and greens to depict the holidays in diverse ways.

“This is an Idea Tour,” said Anita Lehman, the general chair of the event.

The first stop of the tour was called A Collector’s Christmas because all the holiday floral décor was inspired by the homeowner’s art, collectibles, and memorabilia.

In the living room, artwork by Van Gogh was the centerpiece, while in the kitchen Nutcrackers set the theme.

The Roaring Twenties was the theme of the second house on the tour. This Plymouth Meeting home was built 100 years ago. Magnolias, white roses, mums, hybernium berries, and English holly were all the rage in this part of the tour.

Another one of the homes on the tour, this one in Lafayette Hill, took the tourgoers on a trip to Italian wine country, with miniature trees made with rosemary, lamb’s ear, fresh flowers and sheet music, and a wreath made of corks, wine glasses, and pasta.
