Montgomery County Commissioners honored the team for their heroic efforts that saved the woman.

The Montgomery County Urban Search and Rescue Team got their flowers for a swift response to an explosion at a Reading chocolate factory back in March, writes Gregory Purcell for 69 News.

The operation took several hours following the disaster at R.M. Palmer Company, and emergency services had to call for backup.

That’s when the search team sprang into action, dispatching at around 9 PM. The team rescued an employee who was trapped in the debris.

Montgomery County Commissioners honored the team for their heroic efforts that saved the woman.

“I could not be more proud of our team and I deeply appreciate the support of the Department of Public Safety and the confidence of the commissioners that enabled us to deliver essential services to the residents of Montgomery County and surrounding areas,” said Task Force Leader Joseph Dishler
