The Fox Chase Cancer Center and Temple Health have partnered to launch a urology institute that will operate at seven locations in the Philadelphia area, four of which are in Montgomery County. Sarah Gantz covered the new services for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
The Fox Chase-Temple Urologic Institute combines the cancer specialization of Fox Chase with the general urology expertise of Temple to provide a full spectrum of urology services. These include general urologic care, cancer treatment, and advanced surgical procedures.
“Half the frustration of patients is, once they’re in the system, seeing the right person,” said Jack Mydlo, the chair of Temple’s department of urology, who is also part of the executive management team of the new institute.
Having both urologists and cancer specialists as part of one practice will ease the transition for patients as well as for doctors who will now be in close contact with the previous doctors of their patients.
The four Montgomery County locations where the institute will operate are:
- Fox Chase East Norriton
- Temple Health Fort Washington
- Fox Chase Huntingdon Pike
- Chestnut Hill Hospital
