Additional Details Emerge for Tinseltown 2022: ‘Twould Be a Pity to Miss Santa Gritty

Attendees at the 2022 edition of the Tinseltown Holiday Spectacular last year, its first in Montgomery County, may think of it as a once-and-done experience. Having gone in 2021, is there really a reason to return in 2022? The answer is yes, given how its been refreshed with holiday highlights that include the chance to goof around with Santa Gritty.

The Oaks spectacle is just as impressive this time around as it was last year: The five-plus acres of space at the Fairgrounds at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center are packed with huge, lit displays of holiday-themed light sculptures.

The opportunities to eat, listen to a concert, shop, visit Santa and his Mrs., and take incredible photos (ideal for holiday cards) are all just as appealing.

But new overlays — a slide, a genuine ice-skating rink, a light-up dance floor, Santa Gritty appearances — deepen the draw.

The wildly energetic and mischievously impish Flyers’ mascot will be onsite Nov. 30, Dec. 8, Dec. 15, and Dec. 22 (when he’ll depart just in time to burnish his reputation with Santa and earn his way back to the Nice List).

Tinseltown’s Mistletoe Marketplace (its array of kiosks with unique merch) blends popular craftspeople from last year with some interesting newcomers.
