Obtaining a 2022 Ticket to a Dazzling Holiday Event May Require Some Jack Skellington Action Now

Despite the current Halloween vibe in Montgomery County, it's not to early to plan on attending a signature Dec. event.

With calendars and neighborhoods taking on a decidedly black-orange tinge in preparation for Halloween, it’s a bit counterintuitive to be looking ahead to the 2022 December holidays. It may work for Jack Skellington, but for most Montgomery County residents, it’s just too early to be thinking Santa, reindeer, stockings, and trees.

But locals who want to make absolutely sure they don’t miss out on the return of an event that proved extremely popular last year, tapping into that elf spirit amid the witches and ghouls makes sense.

The 2022 Tinseltown Holiday Spectacular Presented by Dietz & Watson has announced its return to Oaks. And as before, it’s arrival is being heralded by the Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board.

Although the electrified spectacle won’t switch on until its Nov. 15 opening night, tickets went on sale Oct. 7.

And its organizers warn that, owing to its historic popularity and timed admission arrangement, sellout nights in Dec. are probable.

For those who missed last year’s edition, Tinseltown is a walk-though experience that includes a display of light sculptures comprising 1.2 million bulbs. Area icons such as the Liberty Bell and Philly’s sports team blaze into the night amid trees, concessions, fire pits, and — new this year, an ice slide.

Early birds — preseason partridges in pear trees, if you will — can snag tickets online at the 2022 Tinseltown Holiday Spectacular home page.

And once the pumpkins, dried cornstalks, and empty candy wrappers have been disposed for another season, further Tinseltown details will become available.

This video shows last year’s electric extravaganza in Oaks.
